Ken Gilmartin one year as CEO

A year ago I was appointed the CEO of Wood and entrusted by you to lead this company.

I am writing to thank you for continuing to work for, work with and invest in us.

In the last year, we have set Wood on a new path as a leader in consulting and engineering across energy and materials markets. 2022 was about setting the strategic vision and this year is about focus and transformation.

We prioritised listening and engaging with the 35,000 remarkable people that make up Wood, our clients and our shareholders. I believe that if you care about your company, you must care about what your stakeholders care about - and that’s what I’ve tried to do.

We are confident of our place in a world that needs cleaner, affordable and reliable energy sources, sustainable production of raw materials and scalable, critical industry solutions.

I am one year in role; we are about seven months into our three-year strategy and something special is happening – momentum. The magic of momentum in a business, a team, a partnership cannot be underestimated and there’s a major difference between short term success and long-term significance. The goal is significance as we seize opportunities to deliver solutions for a sustainable, net zero future and make Wood a more valuable company.

We’re growing, as evidenced in our Q1 results. We set key targets and we are meeting them - creating an inspired culture and a winning team focused on solving our clients most complex challenges and delivering high quality results every day. This is a result of staying focused on our strategy and being selective about the work we do.

We’re delivering on our promises and that remains my commitment to you.
