Wood awarded concept study for Greater Sunrise Development

Breaking into new, Northern Territories – Opening our new Darwin office
Wood has opened a new office in Darwin to support our growth in the Northern Territory (NT). Our office, located in the heart of Darwin’s business district, will serve a growing pipeline of onshore and offshore work in maintenance, operations and engineering.
Committed to developing a local workforce and investing in the region, Wood will employ around 50 engineers, project managers and designers. Our Darwin team benefit from exceptional professional development and the opportunity to work on critical scopes to secure energy and drive energy transition in the region and beyond.

Our proven history in-region has seen us support important NT projects such as Tamboran’s Northern Territory Liquified Natural Gas (NTLNG) project and Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquified Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, the world’s largest floating offshore gas plant.

Wood creates 250 jobs in Victoria with Esso Australia contract
In early 2025, Wood secured a significant new contract to provide long-term maintenance solutions for onshore and offshore assets in the Gippsland Basin, Victoria, operated by Esso Australia. This award will see Wood will create around 250 jobs in Victoria.
The Bass Strait is the largest single source of natural gas for the domestic market in Australia and supplies approximately 40% of the country’s east coast demand.
Supercharging growth in the Asia Pacific
Over the past three years, Wood’s growth in Australia – and beyond - has accelerated. In the Asia Pacific, we’ve seen increased demand for our engineering, project and consulting services.
This is not only the case for the oil and gas industry, but also across chemicals, mineral processing and clean energy sectors too, enhancing the diversification of our portfolio.
